Thank you for taking interest in reading my blog. I suppose that since you have clicked the “About” button, you are curious to know about the writer behind this travel, fashion, and lifestyle blog.
I am a twenty-something girl who is currently out seeking my great perhaps. After getting a degree on International Relations and working for around two years as managing editor for social science research journals, I am now pursuing further studies on Global Politics. Aside from studying for my masters, I have recently set-up a travel and tours company for frequent travelers like me.
My hobbies include reading, reading, and reading. I prefer to read historical fiction, historical romance (especially set in 18th century), YA, new adult, and mystery books, but any genre will be fine. I am in constant thirst for books and I try to quench this desire by reading in almost every free time that I have. You can usually see me engrossed in a real book, or leafing virtually in my eBook reader. Some people call me weird, but I am a proud bookworm who enjoys my daily travel to different time periods and continents.
Recently, I got fascinated to fashion and beauty. Hence, you can see fashion related posts, as well as my attempt to model and review some articles of clothing sent to me by various brands. In addition, I have also written some beauty product reviews, which look so novice I am mostly embarrassed by it.
I have started this blog to express my thoughts at the moment, which are, more often than not, very random. I tried to have a basic theme for this, but I believe I like writing almost anything that I feel or think at a time. Thus the word “impressions” in the blog title and my mixed and crazy blog entries.
I am enamored of Korean culture and like almost anything Korean. I like Kpop, Korean dramas and movies, and even Korean foreign policies. I even studied the country’s writing style and beginner’s grammar. Along with reading, studying different languages is also my passion. As of the moment, I can speak English, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, and a little Mandarin Chinese. Currently, I am trying to learn German and my Duolingo app says I am now 5% fluent! Haha.
This about page should introduce the writer to you, my dear readers. However, I don’t think I can let you know all about me with just a few words. So why don’t you explore this humble blog and get to know me? I will be waiting for you!

nice to see I’m not the alone in the love of reading, reading and reading 🙂
Thanks! Perhaps one of these days we can do a buddy read! 🙂
I’m not sure what that is :S but I’ll give a tentative sounds like fun 🙂
Oh, it means that two people (buddies) will read a same book at the same time. Then they will give updates to each other, ask questions regarding the plot, or give comments. It’s like reading with your friend at the same time and always sending her messages like, “Oh my God, why do you think Kellan did that?” or “Wait ’til you read the part where he used his newly acquired skill to defeat that sorcerer.”
That was my guess :). I would be game.
Cool! If you could recommend a book to read, then we can start soon 😀
Your blog receives the Liebster Award today! 😀 Check out the details here:

Thank you very much~
:):)
I love reading, reading and more reading too! I think all that reading eventually lead to some writing, writing, writing. 😀 I’m amazed you speak so many languages!
I definitely agree with you on that. One can be inspired to write when he/she reads a lot. I daresay you are the same. 🙂 Thanks. I want to be a polyglot with at least 10 languages 😀
Oh My God!?! Ten???? Well you’re well on the way already. 😀
Thank you. I will be studying hard to learn more 😀 wish me luck!
I don’t think you need any luck but ‘good luck’ anyway. 🙂
Thank you so much! 🙂

Rahul
Haha! Sorry, I didn’t get that so well. T.T
Nothing much to mention about it! I just meant that both these words have got some sort of relationship in all respects. 😀 🙂
Rahul
Aha! I got it. Thanks for your clarification. Well, good luck in expressing both our impressions and insights on different matters, huh? 😀
Yeah yeah! Cheers to you, wise gal.m/ 😀

As you should, I am also a new blogger myself – I wrote one blog in October last year but really began blogging daily from Feb this year. You have a great talent, so don’t let it go

Thomas Jefferson said it best , ” I cannot live without books ” his collection was / is the foundation for the Library of Congress .
Oh I agree. As for me, I’d be happy to have even a room converted to a library.
Thanks for reading/liking! 🙂
Most welcome! Thank you for dropping by, too!
What an amazing woman you are! Really enjoyed reading about you.
Highest and best to you!
I don’t know how to accept such compliments. Thank you!
Terrific site! It makes me hungry looking at your outstanding Asian food features. Thanks for the ‘like’ and the visit!
Thanks for returning the gesture! I’m glad you like the Asian treat. I have many backlogs and I will try to write some more about it. Stay tuned!
An impressive list of languages you have learned there. Always glad to meet a fellow obsessive reader, I’m sure you will inspire me in many ways.
That’s just a short list, I tell you. Compared to my other friends who can speak a lot of European languages, I am just a beginner. Arabic can be a challenge!
Another book lover, eh? Wow! That’s terrific to hear! Welcome to the club 🙂
P.S. You may read some of my posts in Reading category for some ideas on how I like my books. 🙂
You like an eclectic mix of books, although Fifty Shades was terrible, but I will let you off as you are such a huge reader.
Hihihi. I was surprised myself that I have finished and liked the series. I admit that the heroine and I share the same age (and innocence?) so I was kinda carried away. It was also my first time to read such an “adult” novel that I felt uncomfortable in some scenes, thus my flipping the pages rapidly to reach a wholesome part. The storyline, grammar, and choice of words might not be that good, but I like the plot. Hmm. That’s my view. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking a post! Best wishes!
Most welcome! Will definitely visit again. 🙂 God bless!
I am all about reading, though lately I’ve been grading and lesson planning more. Somewhere in there is plunking out the NaNo novel. I appreciate the stop by. It’s easier to continue knowing it’s being read.
Consider joining the growing list of Book Boosters on my page. It’ great to read about someone else so dedicated to reading.
Blue Skies,
CM
I am glad to stumble upon your page. I admire people who took the Nano challenge. I think I am not yet prepared to do that so I’ll be waiting for next year perhaps.
I have seen the Book Boosters Page and I will really appreciate it if you could include me in the list. I want to join! 🙂
i’m wondering what initiated your interest in korean culture? and you are after my own heart with your love of books and international culture. thanks so much for dropping by my blog, glad it gave me a chance to pop over to yours 🙂
Thank you for stopping by. There are a ton of Koreans studying in my university and I got to be friends with some. I even had a Korean boyfriend though we broke up before our 2nd year anniversary. I love reading and experiencing something new from different cultures. I hope to read more from you with those topics, too 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking my post. I am glad you are so much into Korean culture because I was born and raised in it. My favourite Korean idols are IU and TeenTop. What about you? 😉
Oh, what a wonderful thing it is! So are you a Korean by blood, too? I like Bigbang, MBLAQ, K.Will, 2ne1 and SNSD. Oh, I like IU, too.,
I too am a voracious reader! It’s the best way to travel, to learn and to grow.
I cannot say more. It is definitely true. Let’s continue reading. Thanks for dropping by.

What a nice thing to say. Thanks for returning the favor. Let’s keep rocking 🙂

Thanks for dropping by and saying hello. Please come visit here again and try to join my current giveaway. It is the top post in my homepage 🙂
I’m not sure whether I read this page when I first checked out your blog (after you liked one of my posts), but I see here that you what you are working on in college would mean you would need a wide range of knowledge about different issues and governments.
You’ve done a fine job of putting the information you understand ‘out there’ for others to understand also. I wish you the best in your endeavors.
Thank you for checking out my blog! I look forward to checking out your blog more! Alesia : )
Thanks for liking my posts I look forward to reading some of yours as well! It seems like you have a great desire for world travel! And I am pleased to meet you!
I appreciate the “Like” for my blog about Writer’s Block. Thanks for your support. I envy people who can speak multiple languages. My son speaks 5, but the language gene skipped 2 generations in my family. I can ask where the bathroom is in Spanish and Portuguese. Does that count? 🙂
Hey, thanks for swinging by and liking my last post at Backyard Philosophy; I really appreciate it. Keep up the writing and have a groovy day!
Sincerely,
Brett
Hi there, Brett. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. You have an interesting blog. I hope you’ll come and visit here more.

Hi, thanks for dropping by. It always makes me feel very honored to read such beautiful words from my visitors. And following me puts me in cloud nine! 🙂 I am not sure if I am mentally prepared for writing my own book. I still see myself as a newbie…

Bree

Hi Monica, Thank you for stopping by my blog and liking my Thanksgiving post. I loved your, “About Me Page.” We were missionaries in the Philippines 3 different times. Perhaps you would like to read my posts I have written about one of those times we were there. It is under the World Missions Category. I have found the Filipinos to over-all be a lovely people.
I’m hoping that authors like Sheridan Le Fanu are old news to you and that you’ve already read all of his work … if not RUN and find them because they are treasures I know you will love. “Uncle Silas” is a masterpiece.
Ditto Wilkie Collins, and of course his most famous novel “the Woman in White”.
Two of my favourite authors. 🙂
Hello, Monica. Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking a post! This make me happy and I’m honoured that you did it. I would like to stay “up-to-date” about your activity, so I will follow you. Best whises!!
Thanks for liking one of my blog posts, I really appreciate it! 🙂
Nice blog you’ve got here! I like reading too! I’ll be sure to follow! 🙂
Thank you for stopping by … in the library … i read that a congrats is in order … Congrats!! for pushing reading and good luck on your quest for that position of diplomat!
Nice to make your acquaintance, Monica. I see that we’re both into publishing — me from the writing side of it, and you on the publishing end.
Congratulations on your recent blog award, and keep up the fine work.

Hello, doll! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and being kind enough to “like” some of my book review posts! I just started this blog today, actually! So it was certainly nice to get both some visitors and “likes” on the first day! 😉
Wow, so many languages! I speak Spanish and English only! I took French in college but I would never by the stretch of the wildest imagination be able to say that I actually speak it. Not even a little! I only remember a few words here and there. Kudos to you for learning so many languages! That’s truly amazing.
It’s always nice to meet a mutual bookworm! 😉 Will be looking around your blog and visit you again!
I am always fascinated with the vibrancy and freshness of other cultures and your page is definitely inviting! I will be following you as you become better and greater!
Reading is a lovely past time! I learn so much from reading. You have a beautiful blog and I am looking forward to reading more of your “random” thoughts. Thanks for visiting my blog. I’m glad you liked it!
From one bibliophile to another, thank you for visiting my blog and liking my post. When I saw the Obama and the bookstore article, I knew I had to share it! Korea does have a rich history and culture. Naturally, I can think of a couple children’s books that bring it to light: Linda Sue Park’s The Kite Fighters and A Single Shard. Keep on reading!
Hey thanks a lot for dropping by my blog… Nice to have met you.. 🙂
I just nominated your beautiful blog for The One Lovely Blog Award. You can go here to find out more about it. http://lplk.wordpress.com/2012/11/26/the-one-lovely-blog-award-nomination/
Best wishes to you!
I have just found your blog and love the mixture of comments about books and culture. Since you like historical fiction, I recommend the novels of Mary Renault, set in Ancient Greece. They bring an unknown time and place alive. Also, since you are interested in Korea, I recommend The Book of Lights by Chaim Potok. A young American Jewish rabbi goes to Korea as a military chaplain during the Korean war. It provides insights into two very different cultures, as well as a painful picture of the destruction and poverty of Korea at that time.
You have a nice eclectic blog and there is nothing wrong with that at all. Interesting things for different people. Thank you for dropping by my blog, All Around Bacolod. I wish you all the best in your career and in your future projects.
~ Gary ~
I am going to enjoy following your blog. Thank you for visiting my blog An Attic in Brooklyn. I will be posting about the Christian Dior books as the days and weeks progress.
Reading is very important–it helps feed the mind, imagination and spirit. Nice to meet another book enthusiast.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! It’s nice to know there is someone else who’s hobbies include reading, reading, and reading!
Indeed! Sometimes I try to think of another hobby, but I always go back to reading, reading, and more reading! Haha
Reading is addicting!
Appreciate you stopping by my Pie Fail at foodforfun–thanks! Love that you’re a “proud bookworm.” Reading rocks:-)
Wow, all those languages. As an Englishman, I am very impressed. We traditionally don’t bother to learn other languages, just expect everyone to know ours! Good luck with the blog, and thanks for the like. Pete, England.
Thank you for stopping by my blog, it prompted me to visit your’s and I must I am totally impressed, you are a very fascinating person and I also love historical fiction, and look forward to your reviews. I’m going to have to read the Alchemist, it sounds very good. Have a wonderful day.
What a charming blog you have! I am curious to know what got you into Korean culture? I am half Korean and spent most of my life in Seoul. Thank you for stopping by my blog and liking my latest post! Have a fantastic day!
Konichiwa. O-Genki desu ka?
My Japanese is elementary at best. What historical authors do you read- American and British?
Smiles,
Linda Joyce
こんいちわ。 わたし は げんき です。 あなた は?
I somehow forgot my Nihongo that is why I am grateful to my Japanese friend who promised to keep me language-polished! 🙂
I read both. Actually, I have this idea of reading more Asian historical fiction for a change.
Your Blog is awesome. Thank you for visiting and liking my blog. Lets connecting the world by sharing knowledge
Thank you. You are correct. Let’s share our knowledge, experience, and thoughts here 🙂
Wow! that’s a well thought out bio and am very impressed by a number of things. Firstly the fact that you love reading and at the same time writing. For many people i have met, they tend to dwell on only one side so for u, that’s a thumbs up. secondly, i also like the language part and am very sure with your dream of being a diplomat, what could possibly stop you with all those languages?
I also love writing and reading though for blogging i started doing not very far back and am loving it. The reading part i also like only that in Uganda, its not easy to get some of the good books and even when they are available, they are very costly and that discourages most readers.
Good work and keep it up
Thanks for visiting my blog and liking my post on books worth reading. I can see we have a lot in common! Your blog design is very pretty.
Hello Monica! Thought I’d drop by and wonder around your blog! Wow, I’m very impressed that you can speak so many languages! Oh, it’s good to find someone who also loves all things Korean. You might have noticed that on my blog they’re mostly about Korean products hehe.
I’d like to invite you to join us at the Girls Inspired Group (GIG) on Facebook, and join the many bloggers who also love books and especially to blog! Would love to have you there and introduce you to everyone. 🙂 https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheGirlsInspiredGroup/
xx Donah
Cool! I like your candid admission, “some people call me weird or nerd.” Forthright indeed! Love the same kind of books, looking forward to looking through your book suggestions. Voracious readers unite :]

Hello there, Rona.
Thanks for dropping by a comment here in my site. I appreciate the compliment, but I am far from being a blogging superstar! 😀
Wow. Please try to visit my country, but not in December-January as we are frequented by typhoons! We currently have one now, and it is in international news already. 🙁
I will try to write some travel tips next time and post some of my (mis)adventures.
See ya~
Bookworms rule!
Nearly no other better way to learn, but through books on paper or electronic format.
I just heard that you’re having some bad weather where you live. Everything alright?
I love your blog, sooo talented and diverse !! I hope you get that job offer before your thirty !! 🙂
Really cool blog! One quick question, how did you get your page to snow? I know totally off topic, but I’m bad about that.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! We have so much in common; I’m also a 22-year-old bookworm and history buff with a degree in politics! Writing and history are my real passions, though, so I’ll be pursuing the academic/research route. Anyway, looking forward to reading your book reviews, and all the best on your journey to being a diplomat! 🙂
Hey thanks for likes and following…..your blog is amazing…
Very pleased to have found your blog; one of the most interesting, human and well-written that I’ve come across in a long while! I’m also a young writer based in the UK, currently working on my second novel, but with a side-project: a Western named Nunslinger. If you’d like something different to read, links to e-version of Nunslinger can be found on my blog.
P.s. how great is the internet, that people from 1000s of miles away can read about each other?

Monica, thank you for visiting my blog. I would like to interview you as a reader. Also, if you’re into travel (Paris, in particular), try my other blog: http://www.eveonalimb.com. And, oh yes, I was born in the Philippines, ages ago.
I prefer fantasies, but I’ve also always enjoyed a good mystery as well. I’m currently reading a book called the enchantress, which is set in modern times.

Thanks for stopping my blog and liking my post. It’s nice to have a fellow Filipino blogger (even though I’m American by nationality, and I guess culturally 🙂 ) to stop by and checking it out. I’m proud of the fact that a lot of Filipinos I meet are so versatile and adapt to culture so easily.
Thanks for your comment and I am also glad to meet you. I am proud to say that many Filipinos are kind, hospitable and strong enough to take whatever challenges they face. Truly, we can easily adjust and adapt to varied cultures.
Thanks for dropping by and liking. Am travelling for a few days but will get back your site and have a read.
Thank you! Enjoy your travel 🙂

Thank you for visiting and liking my blog post about my son. Like you, I love historical fiction. It is a great escape. Keep up the good work! Sylvia
It is nice to meet someone who likes historical fiction, too! Happy New Year!
Oh, I forgot to say thanks for following my blog, too. 🙂
You are most definitely welcome 🙂
Happy New Year, my friend and if you’re interested in contemporary Romance/Suspense, check out one of my books on Amazon or Barnes&Noble ebooks or print. Charmaine Gordon. With love and good health in the new year.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I love Korean culture too. Do you like modern Korean novels? I just read a couple and am planning to write reviews of them… Meanwhile, warm wishes and Happy 2013 from Kingston, Jamaica!
Wow, really? Do you mean manhwas or Korean comics? I haven’t read one, but would like to try. Do you have something to recommend? Happy New Year from Philippines!
Hi Monica,
Just noticed that you liked my blog post today, thanks for that & I’m glad you enjoyed it. Looks like you are indeed quite a reader. Have you ever read anything from Isabel Huggan? In her book “Belonging” she spends one chapter discussing the period of time during which she lived in the Philippines. A great chapter and one that reminded me of a week that I spent there in 2001 – a bus ride from Manila to Laoag. great memory!
Cheers,
Mike
Girl, you seem absolutely delightful! Thanks so much for checking out my author blog =)) It’s amazing that you’re only a year younger than me and have accomplished so much. God has really blessed your life. Hope we can connect more. Thanks again for checking out my fantasy novel. Grace and peace to you!
By the way, I *love* your blog title. I myself am a warrior princess and I’m all about ladies embracing their true identities hence my other blog http://betterthanedward.com/ So amen to that, girl!
Thanks for following my blog. I will follow yours too, as I love hearing others thought on books and random reading!
So did you make the dinner and how did it go?
Hi Monica. Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog and click on the Like button to my most recent post. Your blog is inspiring and interesting; keep up the good work you’re doing here. I wish you all the best of success in reaching your goals. I hope to hear from you again soon. Cheers!
I love your blog. I hope you will accept a nomination for the One Lovely Blog Award! You can go to my blog for more info. It’s writersite and you add the .org afterwards. It’s today’s post “Gratitude x 7+.” I can’t link it here, I guess.
Thanks for the like on my post, nice to find someone of a similar age being so passionate and inspiring. Looking forward to thumbing through the pages of your blog 🙂 x
As you noticed when you stopped by my Narnia blog, I love books, too! On my personal shelves are some of my favorite childhood books that I’m collecting, Enid Blyton’s Adventure series (The Valley of Adventure), etc. This book captured my imagination as a young child, and more than 40 years later I was able to track it down by googling elements of the plot–even though I’d forgotten the book’s name! Some of my other favorites are the Mary Stewart mystery/romance novels which are so much better written than most romance novels. You might not like them because they are set in the 20th century, although usually in foreign locales. In a different vein, I enjoy Madeline Brent’s hard-to-classify novels. I guess you’d call them “Gothic romance” although they aren’t in typical “Gothic” settings. There’s always an element of mystery and often a supernatural element, too. Another of my favorite authors is Jane Austen And as you can guess, I love the Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis! I guess you’d call my reading list eclectic!
I’m afraid the extent of my foreign language mastery is French. I used to speak Spanish, but living in French-speaking countries and learning French drove the Spanish out of my mind! Your English, by the way, is beautiful–such a pleasure to read!
Thank you for reading my book review. I’m glad you like it.
I sure do! Will look forward reading more.
Hi Monica:
I am just writing to inform you that I have nominated you for the Reality Blog Award. You can find the details of it on my page here: http://wp.me/p2qfuv-sz. — Matthew
Wow. Thanks a bunch, Matthew! This is awesome. 🙂 Will write an acceptance post soon.
Hi, Monica! First, I’d like to thank you for visiting my blog and liking one of my posts (there’s only 2 for the moment, LOL). I’m still a newbie, so I’m pretty clueless about blogging. I hope I can learn from yours.
By the way, I’m following your blog! I think it’s awesome! Maybe when my blog’s got more and more content, you can follow mine. 😀
Great blog! By the way, it’s always a great pleasure for me to meet fellow bookworms in the blogosphere. 🙂 Keep up the good work…
~ Matt

Beautiful blog. Thanks for visiting mine and “liking” my post. I’d be interested in your feedback. (I guess the “like” was feedback . . . maybe I just want more feedback . . . 🙂 )
Blown away by your blog. Extremely talented writer. Thank you for stopping by my blog, and “liking” a post.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and getting a glimpse of my Jerusalem! You know, sometimes I feel like I am writing with my right hand and reading with my left, if that makes any sense…..;-)

Hi! Nice to meet you, I’m filipino too and love Korean culture (I studied in Korea for a semester). Nice to meet you!
Thank you very much for this!
I am working on a novella set in 1901 at the first college admitting women.
Wow, impressive to learn of someone with such a passion for reading! And I admire your goals to become a diplomat – all power to you, I’m sure you will get there 🙂
Thanks, Rose. I hope that I regain my passion to diplomat-related stuff as I am currently sidetracked! Haha. Thanks for dropping by.
So… Monica is a pretty American sounding name. Or is that a normal given name for your country?
Is it? I actually don’t like my name. It is a common given name in the Philippines. Too common, I’m afraid. I spent my elementary and high school days being called by my second name as 2-3 Monicas are sharing classes with me.
Well, it could have been worse I assure you. You could be called Helga…
Oh no. I don’t like Helga. Or Julia. I never liked a Julia.
Hello, Monica! ^^ I enjoy reading your book reviews. I don’t know if you have read “Geisha, a Life” by Mineko Iwasaki, but I think you are familiar with “Memoirs of a Geisha”, which was made into a movie. “Geisha, a Life” is more interesting and believable. I think you will find the story fascinating.
Anyway, I have nominated you for the VERSATILE BLOGGER AWARD. Here is the link, should you accept the nomination/award: http://chrissantosra.wordpress.com/2013/01/31/whee-an-award/.
Wow! Thank you very much for this, Chris! I am very flattered that you have chosen me to receive this award. I am happy to read your posts and know more about your life in Korea with your husband. What a fairytale!
I haven’t read and watched Memoirs of a Geisha, but will surely add it to my list. 🙂
Thank you for visiting my blog. Your header picture is beautiful
Thank you for dropping by. I am glad you appreciate my header. It is a winter photo of a Korean temple.

Yay! Thank you so much, Koko~ You are so sweet to award me with these. I am yet to post about the Awesome Things Award.
I know XD I follow your blog! I’m not worrying, it should show up soon, yeah?
Monica your just too busy. Congratulations on your newest award!! 🙂

Yey! I found another Filipino blogger! Nice!
Oh hello! Nice to see you here 🙂
Thanks for checking out my blog! Awesome! Hope to see you soon!
Thank you. See you soon here!
Even though you have already been nominated (and rightfully so), I have decided to nominate you again for the Very Inspirational Blogger Award, for the obvious reason that you are truly inspirational! If you wish to accept (and I won’t be offended if you don’t), you have to 1) display the award logo, 2) link back to the person giving the award, 3) state 7 things about you, 4) list 15 blogs that you wish to nominate, 5) notify these bloggers of the award and the rules. The person that nominated me is here: http://theleapingllama.net/ Heck, you don’t even have to approve this comment if you don’t want to go through the whole process again! Hahaha, lovely job!
Many thanks for stopping by! Your blog is wonderful, and I’m really looking forward to more posts. BTW, “The Great Gatsby” is my favorite novel, so I always enjoy seeing first time readers’ reactions to it. Best of luck!
You have a special place.
Many thanks for stopping by.
Nice to meet you on the internet, dear Monica and please let me be well-impressed I find a future top cultured girl on the internet, contrary I’m neither young anymore in my 34th, nor a well-assured elder or retired one, to never being stopped reading my books again, as the newest are so expensive in my country and everywhere, indeed.
Contrary to that, I’ve worked to find out ways in which I could publish my former Master Dissertation and another diplomatic papers I made, in the past, but looks to be impossible in my country Romania and within a so low-cultered and not-empathical and rude world full of mysogins and prostitutes(which is bad) and very common people with limited brains and souls, like in the Communism or Socialism and even Liberalism too.
All in all, I read you’re a ‘production editor in one of the leading global publishing companies’, in your sweet 22th, whioch makes me ask you what I could do for my former work to be published with you, in the same time I’ll be well-assured our collaborations haven’t only been ‘virtual’, at all?!
Please let me thank you and I’d like youand your international publishing company, to learn how it is to become a full fiplomat or a full agent who deals with the international security, from my former dissertation and my last articles dealing with the international, dipolmatic and military events’, contrary I don’t work for any Government anymore.
Looking forward to your reply,
Yours, sincerely,
Amy Neagoe
HI, Amy. Apologies for the not so prompt response. You may contact me via email here monica.calangian@gmail.com. I can’t promise to solve your problem, but I will try my best to help.

Hey Monica, congratulations, I just nominated you for the ABC award! http://wp.me/p2tQ7q-5Z cheers!
Mabuhay Monica!
Manila has certainly changed since I left in 1970! I couldn’t recognize a lot of places when I visited in 1995 for the first time since leaving. I lived in Paranaque for a short period in the early ’60s. Near what was then the 7-Up bottling plant. Also, on Donada Street, near the former American School, which I attended K-12. After 3rd grade, we moved to Makati and lived in Bel-Air.
I’d like to suggest a book: My Faraway Home. True story of an American family that was in the PI when Japan invaded and fled to the jungle rather surrender. They were eventually rescued by submarine. Author is an American School alum. Available from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/My-Faraway-Home-Adventure-Philippines/dp/1585747238
I’m going to link to your blog. One of my blogger friends is also an avid reader: Fakename. Check her out for posts on books she’s reading.

Much like the lovely blogger who nominated me, I generally don’t participate in these awards things. (I know, I know, EVERYONE says that), but I thought the WordPress Family Award was actually pretty special, decided to spread the love, and nominated you. Stop by my latest post accepting the award for details if you’re interested (http://wp.me/pwIUF-5B )…I promise I won’t be offended if you’re not though. I know a lot of people don’t do these things. Hi Monica. A quick message here to say thank you for coming by, and glad you liked the haibun. 🙂
I just love the green dress on the right. Am looking for a back up dress for my son’s wedding. The one I have is for colder weather. Having said that, I just looked out the window and there’s hail.
I say I envy you for that weather. Living here in a tropical country is not always a paradise thing. It is perpetually summer here.
You may click the photo to be directed to my ongoing giveaway. Two winners will be chosen to get $30 worth of clothes from an online shop. It is open internationally so please feel free to join.
Whoops I meant on the left.
Thanks. We used to live in Thailand and Malaysia and would visit Manilla for sporting events with The International School of Manilla. I will give your contest a go. Thanks!!!
Thanks for liking my theatrical review on AMP! You have a neat blog here. Have you read my post on “The Street of Crocodiles” by Bruno Schulz?

Hi. I just recently got to read your blog when I was browsing for career diplomat related articles and I was redirected to your page. Do you mind if I ask which university did u get ur degree in international relations? Please. Thank you so much. I’m looking for nice universities to pursue studies in the same field.
Hi, Ella. I finished my undergraduate degree in Lyceum of the Philippines University, Manila. I highly recommend this school as it has been offering this course for decades now and the curriculum is really tailored fit for aspiring diplomats. Currently, I am taking my graduate studies in Ateneo de Manila University.
