Here’s another beauty product review for everyone. Today I am featuring The Face Shop’s Lovely Me: Ex Make Up Base. I am glad to share my impressions on my first base experience, so let’s get started!
Product Name: Lovely Me: Ex Makeup Base
Brand: The Face Shop
Shade: #02 in Violet
Net Weight: 40 ml
Price: USD 5.78
Where to purchase: W2Beauty (with free $5 upon sign-up), The Face Shop physical and online stores
Promise: The Face Shop Make Up base can brighten the skin with better tones. It covers blemishes effectively. Violet neutralizes and brightens yellow tone for healthier complexion. Ideal for oily skin with its oil-free, non-sticky, and soft texture.
Don’t ask for the box. The Face Shop Lovely Me: Ex Makeup Base can be purchased only with a plastic cover. It comes in a simple, no-nonsense packaging in silver. Perfect for those who don’t like over-the-top pink and girly designs!
The tube is made of soft and bendable metal with a purple plastic twist cap. Because of its thinness, a light pressure on the tube can squirt too much of the product.
TEXTURE AND SCENT
The Face Shop Lovely Me: Ex Makeup Base comes in a semi-liquid form, in between thick and runny. Since it is on the thin side, it makes it easier to blend and a little goes a long way.
No need to put too much pressure on the tube because it may cause the product to flow too much. It smells nice and light, reminding me of baby powder.
The Face Shop Lovely Me: Ex Makeup Base is very easy to apply, spread, and blend. It cancels the redness under my nose and some in my cheeks as well as the oiliness in my T-zone. My skin becomes glowing and brighter, too. However, it seems a shade lighter than my tanned complexion. The area near my chin looked flaky, too.
Makes skin look glowing and brighter
No strong smell
Easy to spread and blend
Cancels any redness
Easily available in the market
Not apt for tanned (morena) skin
Product too runny
Skin may appear flaky
Lasts only four hours
Will I repurchase?
It is very affordable and worth the money, but I would like to try what a more expensive product can do.
TIPS: Since it cancelled redness in my face, I recommend using this as concealer and/or corrective cream.
The Face Shop Lovely Me: Ex Makeup Base delivers its promise of correcting the skin by neutralizing redness to have a brighter and glowing look. It is very affordable and worth its price, though there are rooms for improvement.
