Online Shopping at Nordstrom

For Filipinos, Christmas is just around the corner. It may sound weird and a bit crazy for others, but for some who have been exposed to our culture already, they will just give a knowing smile and get along with the tide. And just like any other holidays, this season has not escaped commercialism. At least a month before the Yuletide, department stores showcase bright and colourful decorations with their eye-catching red sign – SALE. Like a bull attracted to the color, many swarm various shopping malls to find good deals. Are you one of these people? Bargain hunter or Read More …

Princess Talk: A Letter To My 16-Year-Old Self

Last week, I attended #TeenWeekPH2014, a youth development movement geared in producing future-ready Filipino teens. In the event, I was able to once again experience how it was like to live like a teen – hopeful, ambitious, confused. It was an eye-opening day for me as I reminisced several moments in my teenage years. As I looked back, I wish I did a lot of things before like change those awkward clothes, ignore those childish crushes, find a life beyond books, let go of that horrendous unmatched face powder, and be wiser in my decisions. There were tons of things I Read More …

Officially a Twenteen!

Before you completely raise your eyebrow, I’ll clarify that the heading does not pertain to my age. Yep, I am no longer a teen or even a twenty-year-old girl. What’s up with the title then? Dear readers, I am simply dying to get your attention. Kidding! I recently partnered with a fashion brand in the Philippines which carries the name Twenteen and that explains the purpose of today’s post. Before we get on my photos in my attempt at modeling, let me introduce to you the store first. Or did I lose you at the title? If you are still Read More …

OASAP Giveaway | Pre-Christmas Gift

It’s 96 days to go before Christmas! Can you feel the upcoming season already? In the Philippines, Christmas songs are being played in some department stores and cafes as soon as the –ber months started, i.e, September. I know it may sound absurd to some, but explaining my country’s culture would warrant a separate article. No matter how others view our social practice, don’t you think it’s cool to have other reasons to prepare the celebration of Christmas three months earlier? In the society we currently live in, commerce plays an important role in redefining what we believe in. Aside Read More …

It’s my birthday!

Last week, I reached my 24th year of existence. Hooray! Who would have thought that I am no longer 16? Even a few minutes earlier, a nurse in my post-graduate school mistakenly took me for an undergrad freshman. Do I really look that young? I didn’t really feel like throwing a huge party unlike before, but my day still went on being special. When the clock struck midnight, the room went dark and I was greeted with a big chocolate birthday cake with lighted candles. Birthday songs in two languages and tight hugs followed. Later, my mom prepared a dinner Read More …

La Tentation de Nina: A Modern Princess Perfume

As I love reading any fairy tale, I sometimes thought of what really happened after a story concluded with “and they lived happily ever after.” Call it creativity or mere boredom, my mind kept on creating scenes as soon as that last page of a book has been turned. I often wondered how the heroine fared in her daily life afterwards. As a self-proclaimed princess, I considered these famous fiction royalties as my sisters. What happened to them? Last June 21, I finally had the chance to know how one princess’s life turned out. In fact, I even had the Read More …

Back to School with Parachute Bags

As I have mentioned in my previous post, I took the first step in pursuing further studies last month. It was almost three years since I gained my bachelor’s degree and I was very excited to be a student again. There is something refreshing and youthful on being in a university, walking around the campus with the younger generation, and learning from my class instructors. I now feel more alive – confident that I will be gaining more knowledge on my chosen field of study, which will later help me pursue my dream. From my experience, studying can be both Read More …
