A Busy Princess | My Story

I know I haven’t written something personal in a while and this one, my story as a busy princess, has been overdue for quite sometime. If you have been following my posts in my social networking sites the past few weeks, then it won’t come as a surprise how I can’t manage to write even a single post in my site. My 2014 Mid-year Review

Hello, faithful readers of Impressions of a Princess! I know it has been a while. The question is, did you miss me and my writing? I have been juggling a lot of activities lately and did not have enough energy to impress you with a witty post, hence the unwanted blog hiatus. Now that I am back, I promise to torture you with my tales from last month. For now, let’s settle for my 2014 mid-year review. It is already June and some of us were asking, “Where did the last five months go?” We are already in the middle Read More …

Rainy Monday morning and Indressme giveaway winner

“우리 서로 사랑했는데 우리 이제 헤어지네요 같은 하늘 다른 곳에 있어도 부디 나를 잊지 말아요” (I know I should not have let you go Realized too late that I love you so And if you think it is not too much to ask Please just keep me somewhere in your heart) Blindly, my fingers reached for my screaming phone. With both eyes closed, I managed to swipe the screen of my archaic galaxy S phone to stop it from wailing its tragic alarm tone. Argh, my head ached. After finishing the third installment of that YA paranormal romance novel I Read More …

A New Piece of the Puzzle: Enigma Perfume

Few weeks ago, my aunt’s husband arrived from Qatar disguised as Santa Claus. Not really, but I felt like Christmas when he visited our home and bestowed us with his avuncular gifts. I got the compulsory bags of chocolates and teas, as well as some make-up. Like any of my other uncles, he never failed to add a new bottle of my favorite Alyssa Ashley lotion to my supply. Aside from body creams and hair essentials, he also brought several boxes of perfume for me. Why do all my relatives abroad have the same ideas on what to give to Read More …

Certified four-eyed me: New eyeglasses and stuff

Last November, I wrote a post titled, “Are You Blind, Too?” which got a lively discussion and sharing after. Apparently, I am not the only one who has poor eyesight and depends highly on eyeglasses. According to the comments caused by my post, I found out that most people still prefer to wear specs than modern contact lenses. Personally, I am afraid to wear contacts. I don’t even wear mascara for fear of accidentally poking my eyes! Anyhow, last year my eye grade is like O.D -2.5 and O.S. -2.0. If you are wondering, O.D. means Oculus Dexter which literally Read More …

One of my most embarrassing gifts received ever

Today, one of my Korean friends invited me for a dinner out. I accepted his invitation and we met in a mall in Makati around 4 PM. We dined in Kimpura, a fine dining Japanese restaurant. While eating, he presented me with a gift. “What’s the occassion?”, I asked him with a frown on my face while attacking my tempura. “You’re welcome. Can’t I give a gift without a special reason?”, he answered with his Korean accent. I left it at that. Then curiosity kicked in and I opened the paperbag only to be surprised with what I saw. Seriously? Read More …

As I kiss blogging goodbye…

Last year, I was nursing a broken heart when a colleague introduced me to blogging. It could be an outlet of my emotions, voice of my thoughts, medium of my personality, bla bla. If a sales lady talks me of buying a new can opener with her melodious voice, I know for a fact that I will purchase one even if I don’t really need it. That is why it didn’t take long for my friend to persuade me to create a free account in this platform and write a mandatory introductory post. I struggled for the first few months. Read More …

Learning foreign languages through music

Aside from reading, one of my other hobbies is learning foreign languages. You may say that it is also one of my passions. I love studying how to speak in foreign tongues. If there’s a manual on how to parseltongue like in Harry Potter, perhaps I would like to get my hands on that, too. There’s something fascinating in learning another country’s language. More importantly, it is challenging to try sounding like a native. My native language is Filipino. Since I was a baby, I was trained to speak English. I have studied Japanese and Mandarin Chinese in my university. Read More …

It seems not so long ago when I started creating this blog and was surprised when a WordPress notification congratulated me for celebrating my first year in the platform. Wow.
