Last April 29, I was invited to the launch of PLDT Home Bro Ultera at Hall 1, SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. The telecommunications giant officially unveiled the newest addition to its ultra-fast Home Bro family, which offers high-speed wireless Internet connection up to 10 MBPS.
The revolutionary PLDT Home Bro Ultera is TD-LTE powered – Time Division Duplex – Long Term Evolution which can promise a super-fast connection like no other. It was designed for homes with digitally active family members who want to surf the Internet, be present in social media, stream videos, and download almost everything without skipping a heartbeat. Thus, Ultera carries the tagline “Speed You Can’t Beat” and has tested its claim by presenting challenges between human abilities and its high-speed connection.
One of the challenges was for Mr. Jigger, title holder for one of the Philippines’ fastest burger eater, to beat the speed of PLDT Home Bro Ultera downloading ten full songs as he munch on a four-patty burger. Of course, Ultera won! There were others such as Jeric Teng, Ultera’s brand ambassador and PBA player, tried to shoot 30 balls in a basket against uploading 30 photos in Facebook; Jeron Teng running for 40-meter sprint versus streaming a two-minute video; and so on.
I even tested Ultera’s speed myself when I watched a not so popular Koreanovela in Youtube. I was really surprised when the videos kept on playing like I downloaded them or played via DVD. It was that fast! For a country with a very slow Internet connection, this was a good news for me.
Along with Ultera’s ultra-fast connection speed, it also has special add-on services like Clickplay where hundreds of blockbuster and Hollywood movies can be played; MyPinoyTV where Tagalized Asianovelas and animes can be watched; and Spinnr where everyone can have access to thousands of songs. Aside from those, PLDT Home Bro Ultera can also support the use of PLDT Home TVolution, an Android device which could turn an ordinary TV into an Internet TV.
As of the moment, PLDT Home Bro Ultera is available in three plans: Ultera Basic, with speeds of up to 3Mbps; Ultera Max, which reaches up to 5 Mbps; and the top of the line Ultera Pro, which delivers speeds of up to 10Mbps.
As a blogger, I always wish to have a faster Internet connection at home. For my writing hobby and blogging duties, I need something I can fully rely on. With the launch of PLDT Home Bro Ultera, I hope I can be able to deliver more to my readers by getting this site updated more often.
What’s your current Internet connection at home? Are you satisfied with its speed? Did you ever wish you can upgrade it with something faster?
