As a city girl from the south, I am more comfortable travelling to nearby provinces like Batangas and Laguna. Whenever I have the luxury of free time or an attack of boredom, I drive to nearby Tagaytay with family or friends and enjoy the simple life in the countryside. However, I moved to my own place earlier this year and since then, the “south” has never been that accessible as before.
More or less an hour away from my family home, Tagaytay is a popular choice for urbanites whenever they want to escape the busy life of the metro. Aside from its cooler climate and laidback lifestyle, Skyranch, the amusement park in the area, has been a tourist attraction since its creation. I have taken these for granted until I moved here in QC where I still try to find amusing and novel places to hangout.
Introducing Sky Ranch Pampanga
Developed by SM Prime Holdings, the 10 000 sqm park brings thrill and excitement to North Luzon with Sky Ranch Pampanga. Opened last November 30, the amusement park offers a total of 22 exciting attractions to both kids and kids at heart. Conveniently located at the grounds of SM City Pampanga, this has become one of the main tourist spots in the area.
Below are some of the exciting rides that you can find at Sky Ranch Pampanga:
The Big Wheel / Pampanga Eye
The tallest and biggest Ferris Wheel in the Philippines, The Big Wheel stands tall in 65 meters high and 50 meters in diameter. It carries 32 air-conditioned gondolas which can accommodate four people each.
One of my favourite rides when I was kid, this classic double-decker carousel will surely be loved by everyone. The magical feel of these rotating horses is made possible by Peter Petz Productions of Germany.
The Loop Roller Coaster
I didn’t expect that there would be on in Sky Ranch! Not for the faint of heart, this roller coaster completes a 360-degree full circle at the top of the loop and gives enough thrills and excitement for a wonderful experience.
Though I am not really fond of flying boats, Super Viking at Sky Ranch is another attraction to visit. The open-seated gondola carries 32 people in a back and forth 90-degree swing.
This may look familiar to people from the south as it is the same as Sky Ranch Tagaytay’s Top Dancer. With three cycles each, it swivels from right to left.
This modern caterpillar will make people shout for excitement as it spins, flips, and twirls for the entire ride. It can accommodate 72 passengers.
