Thailand Travel Diary: Day 6

Apologies for the long instalment of my Thailand Travel Diary. I have been procrastinating in blog writing these days and I blame the summer heat in my tropical country for this. Nevertheless, I still plan to continue and finish my first ever travelogue here in my site, so I hope you can still bear with me. I have few more days left for this to be done, so without further ado, let’s go back to what I did on my sixth day in Thailand. After last night’s heavenly two-hour, full body Thai massage from Health Land, I woke up refreshed Read More …

Thailand Travel Diary Day 5.2

Hello, friends! Since Day 5 seems too long, I am writing the second half of my travel diary here. To recap, I went to see the Maeklong Railway Market, Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, The Grand Palace, Emerald and Lying Buddhas in the morning. After that interesting and exhausting trips, Kimchi Man and I went back to Nuovo Hotel in Khao San Road for check-out. It was time to go to Modern Bangkok. Since we went to Thailand when there was a political turmoil between administration and opposition parties, many main roads were blocked by protesters. There were also some rumors/news Read More …

Thailand Travel Diary: Day 5

I still can’t believe that I am diligent enough to write my entire Thailand trip. After a visit to Ayutthaya, the Ancient City, and a romantic dinner cruise along Chao Phraya, let’s continue re-visiting my adventures in Bangkok on my fifth day. As mentioned in Travel Diary Day 4, Kimchi Man and I went to a Korean travel agency to book us some slots in tour groups. For today, we availed the “Floating Market Tour” because he knew this was included in my bucket list. As always, I am touched by his thoughtfulness. MAEKLONG RAILWAY MARKET The tour guide told Read More …

Thailand Travel Diary: Day 4

By seven o’clock in the morning on my fourth day in Thailand, Kimchi Man and I were already waiting for our tour to Ayutthaya, known as the second largest city in Siam next to Sukothai. Also called the Ancient City, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations near Bangkok due to its rich history brought by its almost destruction by the Burmese army in 1767. Now, this historic complex of temples and monasteries has become a UNESCO world heritage site. WAT PHU KHAO THONG Almost an hour away from Khao San Road, we reached out first destination- Wat Read More …

Thailand Travel Diary: Day 3

On our third day in Thailand, we spent the morning enjoying Green Park View Hotel and Resort amenities. I swam and floated together with the Western guests in the hotel’s free form pool until my skin felt warm and burned. Kidding. Before lunch, we checked out and waited for the tour van which would transfer us to our next destination – Bangkok. WELCOME TO BANGKOK I was finally in the big city! I partly saw some areas when I moved from airport to Pattaya, but as the van drove down the main roads in Bangkok, it finally set in – Read More …

Thailand Travel Diary: Day 1

On that Sunday morning, I willed my lazy body to wake up early. I arrived at the airport (NAIA Terminal 2) less than two hours before my flight. I met Kimchi Man there and together we headed to Philippine Airlines booth to check-in our luggage. The agent behind the counter had an unpleasing attitude for that fine morning, but we simply brushed it off. No one could ruin the start of my perfect holiday vacation. 🙂 There’s nothing worth mentioning about my flight to Thailand except that both Kimchi Man and I were disappointed with PAL’s complimentary hot meals. After Read More …

Travel Thailand: Tips and Things to Prepare

In my previous post, I have listed items included in my 2014 bucket list, among them some places I want to see. As I look back in an article I wrote around October 2012, my dream vacation would be in Thailand, my country’s neighbor. Incidentally, the City of Smiles is also included in this year’s bucket list, and after wishing for this paradise getaway to take into picture, I finally made up my mind to start 2014 in the Kingdom of Thailand. Now that the destination is finally chosen, it is time to do the next and crucial step – Read More …
