I’m Back to Blogging! | Website Revamped

Hello, October! Have you missed me? I was out travelling around the country and Europe for the past months and had taken a blogging hiatus, but I am now back! Starting this month, I would be sharing a better and more improved website to all of you. Yes, Impressions of a Princess has gotten more than a face lift – it has been totally revamped! Aside from a new web design, gongjumonica.com will now be more serious in expressing personal interests of yours truly.  I would be writing less sponsored reviews and articles and more of my own thoughts and Read More …

Movie Review | The Maze Runner

Imagine waking up in a foreign place with your memory wiped out. You can’t remember your parents’ faces, your last meal, or your Facebook password. You don’t even know your name. It seems like you are in a state of amnesia. Now add a giant maze with mechanical creatures and other deadly weapons in the mix. That is how and where you will live until you manage to escape the cage you are in. Scared? That is basically how the movie The Maze Runner started its story. Written by an American author James Dashner in 2009, The Maze Runner is Read More …

REVEALED: Things You Must (or not) Know About Me

Thank you for continuously reading Impressions of a Princess. After celebrating my second blog anniversary, I think it is only fitting that I share more about myself. To my loyal readers who have yet to meet me in person, I hope I can create an image (hopefully beautiful) with these confessions I am going to make. I trust that you won’t judge me with my eccentricities. NERD Periodic Table of Elements always amazes me.  My friend and I usually test each other by guessing the chemical names, symbols, atomic numbers, and physical samples. I sometimes dislike that being a chemical Read More …

First Quarter of 2014 Review

In just a blink of an eye, it seems that days flew by so swiftly that I almost did not notice that a few days from now, we would be saying goodbye to the first quarter of the year. Could you almost believe that? By next week, it would be three months since we welcomed the start of 2014. How have you been holding up? I guess it is only right that at this point, let’s try to look back and reflect on how we spent the last 90 days or so. Were we productive? Did we reach our goals? Read More …

Thailand Travel Diary: Day 4

By seven o’clock in the morning on my fourth day in Thailand, Kimchi Man and I were already waiting for our tour to Ayutthaya, known as the second largest city in Siam next to Sukothai. Also called the Ancient City, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations near Bangkok due to its rich history brought by its almost destruction by the Burmese army in 1767. Now, this historic complex of temples and monasteries has become a UNESCO world heritage site. WAT PHU KHAO THONG Almost an hour away from Khao San Road, we reached out first destination- Wat Read More …

My Valentine’s Day Outfit

Would you be my Valentine? How many times have you been asked by this question? More importantly, how many times have you received this from someone you like? What did you answer? Last February 14, I have never expected to see a lot of people going out exactly on Valentine’s Day. Wherever I looked red, I saw red, and I meant it literally. Bunches of red roses along with heart sticks and teddy bears were being sold by street vendors along the pedestrian lanes, while shopping malls and restaurants were competing each other for the best Valentine-decorated place. Also, hotels, Read More …

My Thoughts on Valentine’s Day

Who wouldn’t know today’s date? Since the start of the year, many of us were already looking forward to this red-letter day. Social media and commercial industries did not fail to remind us about this huge event, especially if you are in a relationship. Couples were both excited and stressed, while single people tried not to give a fig about this holiday. Whichever group you are in, I’m afraid no one can escape to witness heart decorations in shopping malls, romantic songs on the radio, statuses on Facebook and Twitter, and promo deals by restaurants and hotels for Valentine’s Day. Read More …

Thailand Travel Diary: Day 2

I woke up quite early for my second day in Thailand. Originally, we were bound to Koh Larn Island, a picture-postcard paradise west of Pattaya. However, we had limited time to explore during the day because we booked an after lunch travel package. Kimchi Man suggested that it is better to have a separate trip for beaches and sunbathing, and since I wanted to be exposed to Thailand’s culture first, he did not include swimming in our itinerary. He added that we could go to beautiful beaches in my home country, the Philippines, or go back to Thailand next time Read More …
