Summer is almost upon us and for many Filipinos, it is the best time to cool down in beaches or travel up north where the temperature is relatively colder. Baguio City has been known as one of the top destinations to go to this season because of its cold climate, strawberries, and beautiful landscapes which attract local and foreign tourists around the country who want to escape the heat. For summer 2015, is Baguio included in your travel list?
If yes, have you planned where to stay? There are many affordable and luxurious hostels and lodgings in the city, but if you are specifically looking for a place where you can enjoy the cold clime while admiring the beautiful flora of Baguio sans the busy noise of the city, The Residences at Brent is something I highly recommend based on my experience at staying there.
The Residences at Brent
After almost two years, I finally set my foot again to the City of Pines. This time, I had the chance to stay at The Residences at Brent which made me inspired to write a review about it.
The Residences at Brent by Willowtree Development Corporation is located at Brent Road, adjacent to Brent International School Baguio. It is near the heart of crowded and noisy Baguio, but far enough to appreciate tranquility the city brings along with its pine-scented air. It is a secure community surrounding a school. It offers Brent’s rich heritage and tradition of excellence.
This picturesque mountain lodge community will be welcoming you as soon as you reached The Residences. I went there mid-February, the time where the temperature drops up to 14 degrees. It is cold for such a tropical country. Just look at my clothes in the picture! 🙂
I am not really expecting much, but I was totally blown away when I entered the unit that I would be staying for a couple of days. It looks too comfortable to be called a hotel room! Brent’s long tradition of excellence brought this feeling of being at home at The Residences with its two bedrooms and four bathrooms, all with hot shower! In Baguio City, hot shower is necessary especially when the temperature drops low at night. I am so happy that The Residences will prevent me from freezing like a popsicle! The kitchen is also spacious to move around when one cooks and the dining room is big enough to accommodate six people.
However, what captured my attention was this:
A working fireplace!
Ignore my excitement over this, but I live in a tropical country where we practically don’t need a fireplace. Thus, seeing this gas-fired fireplace makes me feel warm all over! Pardon the pun. 🙂
I love how secured I felt in my entire stay at The Residences. A guard post is present upon entering The Brent community and a magnetic locked gate is activated at the entrance of the hotel. Of course, there is also a separate lock for each units.
Chance to Commune with Nature
There is another thing that I like at The Residences. The community made me feel one with nature! Unlike other place where one has to take a few minutes’ walk to the park, I only had to go out of my room and the lush greens are already there! Luscious gardens, pocket parks, jogging areas, bike trails, and football field are there.
Truly, The Residences at Brent has a very serene and laidback ambiance with its comfortable and secured accommodation and parks. It makes me feel like going back to Baguio many times just to take a breath of fresh, pine-scented air while eating strawberry ice cream. Maybe I will really do that soon?
Where shall I go next?
